The following exercise is designed to help you think about story as a system of values, consequences, and thematic meaning. Read the premise below carefully, then use the Story World framework from this lesson to infer the answers to the questions that follow.
STORY PREMISE
A society lives under an authoritarian system that maintains order by suppressing the truth about a genocide committed years earlier. Citizens are taught a carefully constructed version of history and cling to it because believing it makes them feel safe. Fear of chaos, guilt, and social collapse keeps everyone obedient, silent, and emotionally imprisoned. But beneath the surface, the system is beginning to fracture, and the truth can no longer remain buried.
